Marvel legends of love and thunder leak at first sight new characters

Marvel Studios is notorious for keeping all of its projects in a thick shroud of secrecy, often due to a fault. Because the studio memorizes even the smallest details for a movie release, searches often come first for its movies and TV shows in the form of games and other merchandise releases. Case in point, fans are still eagerly awaiting the first teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder, and the movie’s games are already seeing a release. On Saturday, footage from the movie’s wave of highly collectible Marvel Legends action figures surfaced online, giving fans their first serious look at much of the movie’s cast.

In total, there appear to be seven characters included in the wave, including two characters of Thor and a pair of Guardians of the Galaxy. One Thor can be seen in a new blue and gold suit while the other is called “Ravager Thor,” wearing the thunder-like suit that was revealed in leaked photos when the movie was in principal photography.

Other characters included in the wave included Gore, who looks reminiscent of a statue and also has a fresh look without his iconic tendrils. King Valkyrie gets to be the character of Jane Foster’s powerful Thor. To complete the wave, Hasbro is introducing new Star-Lord and Groot figures. Each wave piece figure includes a Build-A-Figure. Korg appears to be wearing an updated suit, too.

Taika Waititi, who directed Motorcycle rentalReturn to direct Thor: Love and Thunder. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Kaiten Robinson. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Jimmy Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Jean, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel.

Thor: Love and Thunder Opens in theaters July 8.
